Michelle Morris - Artist

"For me art is a conversation with the viewer.  I am always looking for the best way to involve the viewer and help them understand my intent.  I chose the medium I feel will best express my concept, using Oil, Pastel or Watercolor.  While each of these mediums have expressive qualities,  my medium of choice is most often watercolor.  I love the fluid, spontaneous and at times unpredictable nature that is unique to watercolor.  I love its versatility and the transparent color on the white of the paper.   My aim is a loose gestural style that say's just enough yet leaves something unsaid."

Michelle's art education began in college and has continued in classes and workshops from portrait artists Mary Whyte, Judith Carducci, and Janet Rogers as well as other fine artists through the years.

Michelle is a member of the Dublin Area Art League, Worthington Area Art League, and the Ohio Plien Air Society where her work has won awards.  She currently teaches classes on Portrait and Figures;  Landscapes and Plein Air;  Floral and Still Life;  Drawing and Color in several venues locally and privately.  Many of her students have take her classes repeatedly.  Michelle has a motivational approach to teaching emphasizing the fundamental principles of art while helping her students develop their own style.
